Te Ao Mārama provides representation, leadership and support to the Māori oral health workforce – dental therapists, dentists, dental specialists, oral health promoters, support staff, researchers, teachers and students.
The Dental Council is a regulatory authority created by the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003. We ensure oral health practitioners meet and maintain our standards in order to protect the health and safety of the New Zealand public.
The New Zealand Dental Association (NZDA) is the professional association for New Zealand dentists. As well as providing services for its members, the NZDA is the one body able to speak on behalf of NZ dentistry as a whole.
This association comprises oral health professionals working in the public sector as oral health service managers, clinical leaders in public sector dentistry and dental therapy and senior oral health advisors.
